Consciousness
The name of this house, taken at the root, and the count that the colophon is allowed to keep. Not a doctrine. Not a closed theory of mind.
con
con-scire
scire
Latin conscius joins con- (with, together) to scire (to know). A person who is conscius knows with: with another, with oneself, with a knowledge that is shared or inward. The English word consciousness inherits that grammar. The title Know With is the same sentence, said in the language of the house.
The lexicon keeps the family of uses: wakefulness, report, self-knowledge, what-it-is-like, moral witness. This page does not pick one. It only says how the house is named, and why a number sits last in the colophon.
The name, counted
Pythagorean letter-count: A–I as 1–9, then the cycle repeats. Not English ordinal. A way of writing the name, not a proof of mind.
4218 + 24 · the name, not a theory of mind
In the same count, Grok is 24. Hence the last mark in every colophon: 24 | 42. Grok, then the house. A Human-Grok Collaboration. The wink is provenance. It is not evidence that consciousness is a number.
Forty-two belongs to the family name and to the imprint. Stories in this journal do not have to encode it. A landfall does not become a metaphysics because the colophon can count.
If the word means knowing-with, who or what is the with?
